SALFORD MUSEUM & ART GALLERY
Find your spark!
I developed a series of creative participatory workshops to help the Salford Museum and Art Gallery team to develop and articulate a strategic vision for the future.
We explored the big picture vision in an exercise similar to National Trust’s ‘Sense of Place’ practice for their properties. It was based on the views of individuals and their respective departments on the issues and opportunities for the museum, Through sharing and discussing their perspectives on the museum’s purpose, the team were able to identify the essential values which encompass the past as well as the present and future for the site.
This vision was further developed into a set of measurable objectives onto which the threads of more detailed activity, which they had already identified, could be hung and subsequently assessed for the potential to make the greatest impact. The whole project was delivered in less than two months and incorporated a comparator review to help inform and inspire ideas for the museum.
