Museums Development North West appointed The Authentic Spark to design and deliver a CPD programme for those in the first 5 years of their career. I combined my museum sector experience with my coaching and mentoring skills to work with and support the cohort.

This pilot programme for Museums Development North West ran from September 2018 to March 2019. ‘New to the Sector’ offers participants the opportunity to develop their knowledge of the sector and of themselves to support their personal and professional development.
This pilot programme for Museums Development North West ran from September 2018 to March 2019. ‘New to the Sector’ offers participants the opportunity to develop their knowledge of the sector and of themselves to support their personal and professional development.
I designed a competency framework to underpin the programme. Participants build a CPD plan and log their activity towards their goals over the 6 months. I delivered 6 workshops (including guest speakers) at venues in the North West. I co-ordinated webinars with invited speakers on ‘hot topics’ for the sector. Each participant received 2 hours of one-to-one coaching. A ‘What’s app’ group provided opportunity to connect between workshops and support each other.
